Snehidhi, an initiative by the Centre for Women’s Development and Research (CWDR), is committed to the empowerment of adolescent girls by promoting their rights to education, health, and equality. With a membership of over 2,000 girls, Snehidhi strives to create an enabling environment where girls can access critical knowledge and develop life skills necessary for their holistic development. The initiative focuses on ensuring that girls understand their sexual and reproductive health rights (SRHR), gender equality, and are equipped to advocate for themselves, leading them toward a future of self-determination and empowerment.

Key initiative focuses on
Life Skills and Sexuality Education: Comprehensive education on life skills and sexuality, with a focus on Menstrual Hygiene Management (MHM) and advocating for Sexual and Reproductive Health Rights (SRHR). This helps girls make informed decisions about their health and well-being.
SRHR Advocacy Network: Our advocacy network spans NGOs across Chennai, Tiruvallur, Chengalpattu, and Kancheepuram districts, promoting SRHR and reaching over 15,000 girls. We strive to deepen understanding of health rights within these communities.
Supplementary Education and Computer Training: We offer supplementary education and computer training to help girls acquire academic and digital skills, empowering them for future success.
G2G (Girls to Graduates): Through scholarships, we support girls in continuing their education up to the graduate level. This program significantly reduces the risk of child marriages and helps girls achieve their academic dreams.
